Loving What Is = The Fastest Way to Change It
One of the most ironic things about manifesting is that often the fastest way to create something brand new and better is to make peace with things exactly how they are right now.
Because, when we push against what is and judge it as “wrong,” this focus tends to hold us in that energy. We end up manifesting more of the same.
As the saying goes, what we resist persists.
On the other hand, when we embrace, accept, and find the benefit in what is, even if it’s not where we ultimately want to be, it begins to transform into something better.
I experienced this a few years ago when I went from being a full-time entrepreneur to working as an employee again.
At first, it was easy to enjoy being in a totally new environment and the fun of shaking up my regular routine.
But, after this novelty wore off, my architecture office job began to feel not so exciting anymore.
I began to sink into feelings of boredom and to question the inspiration that had led me here.
Luckily, I’ve been around the manifesting block a few times before... so these feelings didn’t last long before I realized what was going on.
This experience did not necessarily mean I'd made the wrong decision and should quit my job.
It meant I needed to shift my energy.
I did this by making a list of everything I appreciated about this job.
For example:
Steady paychecks allowed me to focus less in my business on the need to make money now in order to pay bills and more on falling back in love with my life’s work.
Freedom to create my own hours allowed me to more easily pursue my business on the side.
The laid back working environment was a nice change of pace from the stress I’d experienced in running my business full-time.
My office was only a ten minute walk to one of my favorite places to eat, making lunch breaks that much more enjoyable.
While performing less engaging, potentially boring tasks at work, I could listen to one of the many personal, spiritual, or business development educational audios in my collection, thus transforming boredom into learning time - one of favorite activities!
Not long after deliberately focusing myself into appreciation and enjoyment rather than boredom, my job began to morph and evolve into something better, all on its own.
Of course, this makes sense from a Law of Attraction perspective.
Whenever we improve our vibration, reality must follow suit.
Either the situation we’re in falls away to be replaced by something better, or we attract better results within the current situation.
The way this showed up at my job was that my boss suddenly wanted me to get involved in more of the business side of our office. As a business coach and lover of all things entrepreneurship, this was very fun for me!
I was able to spend at least half of my work time researching and developing business expansion plans for our architecture office. Not only was this fun, but it also increased my knowledge and skills that I could apply to my own business.
I was now getting paid to study and experiment with things like client attraction, online funnels, marketing, copywriting and other entrepreneurial topics that really interested me.
The other way that my job began to get better was that we hired more people. When I first began working at my job, much of the time it was just my boss and I. Eventually, we had a staff of 10.
And, everyone who joined our office was really playful and funny. It made me look forward to going into work to be with this fun group of people.
(My fun loving architecture office crew - taking a afternoon break to help out with a moving project).
The result of all this is that my job transformed from something kind of ho hum and boring into one of my favorite places to be.
That’s the magic of a change in perspective.
As Wayne Dyer said, “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Loving what is creates the energetic conditions that allow it to transform into its highest potential.
Let it get better and better,
